Things to do in Miami this weekend: November 7–8

Here is a short, verified list for Saturday, Nov. 7, and Sunday, Nov. 8, with a few Friday notes only where the weekend already starts.

Homestead: NASCAR Championship Weekend

Homestead-Miami Speedway hosts the season finales. Per the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau listing, Friday's Craftsman Truck Series Championship is at 7:30 p.m., Saturday's O'Reilly Auto Parts Series Championship is at 5 p.m., and Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series Championship is at 3 p.m. The track is at One Ralph Sanchez Speedway Blvd., Homestead. Listed ticket starts are about $51 for a single day and about $117 for a three-day pass. Buy parking ahead if you drive.

North Miami: Greek Festival (free)

The North Miami Greek Festival runs Friday through Sunday at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 12250 NW 2nd Ave., North Miami. Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Entry and parking are free; food, tours, music and a marketplace are the draw. Zoo Miami area: Free First Saturday at the railroad museum

Saturday, Nov. 7, the Gold Coast Railroad Museum lists Free First Saturday & Market. Museum admission is free. Train and speeder rides are extra and depend on volunteer staffing, so call ahead. The artisan and food market with Central Makers is part of the day. Address: 12450 SW 152nd St., Miami.

Museums on Us (cardholders)

Saturday and Sunday are the November Bank of America Museums on Us weekend. Eligible Bank of America or Merrill cardholders get free general admission at partners that include Perez Art Museum Miami, The Bass, MOCA North Miami, Freedom Tower at MDC and Miami Children's Museum. Bring the card and a photo ID. Check each museum for timed-entry rules.

Wynwood and Grapeland Heights
