Stone crab season is a month old, and Wynwood gets a full day of seafood on Sunday.
The South Florida Seafood Festival returns for its 13th year on Sunday, Nov. 8, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at The Wynwood Marketplace. Organizers promise more than 15 seafood pop-ups serving paella, stone crabs, oysters and lobster.
What it costs
Tickets are sold on Eventbrite, where prices range from $7.68 to $68.30 with fees. Early-bird prices are online only. Organizers say prices go up at the door, and entry there isn't guaranteed.
Kids under 12 get in free, according to the festival's FAQ.
Budget for food. A ticket covers entry and the festival's activities, but every dish and drink is bought separately from the pop-ups and bars. All sales are final, with no refunds or exchanges.
What's there
Stone crabs from Casablanca are a featured stop. Beyond the seafood stands, there is a Kitchen Lab stage where chefs cook live and hand out samples, cocktail bars, live music and DJs, a vendor market and a family fun zone with games.
You must be 21 with a valid photo ID to buy or drink alcohol. Everyone else can eat, listen and play.
Leashed, friendly pets are allowed. The festival goes on rain or shine, so check the forecast.
Getting there
The Wynwood Marketplace is at 2250 NW 2nd Ave., at the north end of the arts district. Organizers say Wynwood's street parking and public garages fill up fast on event days and suggest Uber, Lyft or a taxi.
The festival used to be on the water. Since moving to Wynwood, there is no boat access.
