Miami-Dade residents can now visit Wynwood Walls without buying an admission ticket. The museum launched its free local membership on October 13 through a partnership with Rockstar Games.

The offer runs until 2028, according to the museum. It covers the open-air art museum at 2516 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33127.

Get the pass before you go

  1. Register at the local membership website or the museum’s Welcome Center. Use a valid photo or student ID that shows a Miami-Dade County address.
  2. Add the digital membership card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
  3. Show the membership card when you enter during museum hours.

Children under 12 are always free. Local residents can add family members under 18 to their membership. Guests who live outside Miami-Dade still need regular admission.

The membership includes murals, sculptures, indoor Goldman Global Arts Gallery exhibits and the hands-on spray-painting experience. The museum also lists a future artist-in-residence program, where visitors will be able to see artists at work.

What is new on the walls

The partnership also brings 10 murals with artwork created for Grand Theft Auto VI. They are spread between the museum and the wider neighborhood. Tristan Eaton’s work is on the museum campus; the other murals are around Wynwood.

That gives residents a reason to make the museum one stop in a broader art walk. The free pass covers museum admission, while the neighborhood murals are in separate locations. The museum’s program page explains the partnership and membership.

Plan the visit

Wynwood Walls lists daily hours of 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Doors close 30 minutes before the museum, so plan to enter by 6 p.m. The listed parking option is Wynwood Garage at 311 NW 26th Street. Street parking is also available.

The museum’s terms say free registration is subject to capacity. Membership is personal and cannot be passed to someone else. Keep the membership confirmation and bring proof that you currently live in the county.

Wynwood Walls began in 2009, founded by Tony Goldman. Its setting is an outdoor museum built around large works of street art. The museum’s app offers guided tours in three languages, useful for visitors who want more background on the art.
