Miami-Dade voters can start casting ballots Monday, October 19, for the November 3 election. Early voting gives residents two weeks to vote at a county site that fits their day, rather than waiting until Election Day.

All 28 sites are scheduled to open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Sunday, November 1, according to the county’s official schedule. You can choose any early voting site in Miami-Dade, even if you live in another part of the county.

Where to go near the coast

In Downtown Miami, the Stephen P. Clark Government Center site is in the Elections Branch Office lobby at 111 NW 1st Street, Miami, FL 33128.

Miami Beach has two options: City Hall at 1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33139, and North Shore Branch Library at 7501 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33141.

For residents near Brickell or Coconut Grove, the schedule also lists the Historic Garage at 3250 S Miami Avenue, Miami, FL 33129. It is on the former Museum of Science property; the county directs voters to enter on the right.

Check the full schedule before heading to a site you have used before. Some locations have moved for this election. In South Dade, for example, the Government Center replaces the regional library.

What to bring

Bring a current, valid ID that shows your name, photo and signature. A Florida driver’s license, Florida ID card or U.S. passport are among the accepted forms. Your voter information card is not required, according to the county’s Voter Toolkit.

Use the county’s early voting page to review your personal sample ballot before you arrive. The page will also show site wait times during early voting, so you can compare stops before leaving home or work.

Mail ballots have two deadlines

If you want a ballot mailed to you, the request must reach the elections office by 5 p.m. Thursday, October 22. The completed ballot must then arrive by 7 p.m. on Election Day, November 3. A postmark by that date is not enough.

You can return your completed mail ballot at a staffed ballot intake station at any early voting site during its voting hours. You cannot drop it at your regular precinct on Election Day. The county’s vote-by-mail page lists return options and lets you track your ballot’s status.

Planning to vote on November 3 instead? That day, you must use your assigned polling place. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; the option to choose any county early voting site ends November 1.
