Miami International Airport is promoting its MIA Discover route map for year-end travel, with 164 nonstop destinations listed in the airport's October 9 update.

The tool offers a different starting point from typing a destination into an airline search. You can explore where MIA flies, look into a city and then choose dates before continuing to an airline's booking portal.

The airport also lists seasonal service changes this month, including scheduled October 25 returns to Reykjavik, Dublin and Copenhagen. For travelers weighing a winter trip, the map brings destination ideas and flight options into one place.

Start with the destination

The airport describes a rotating 3D globe with a “See Destinations” option that leads to city maps and virtual tours. A travel calendar lets users select dates and review flight options, while trip playlists can be shared by link or email.

That sequence works well when the destination is still open. Explore a few cities first, then narrow the choice using the dates you can travel. Sharing the shortlist gives travel companions something concrete to compare rather than a string of unrelated links.

The destination count is the airport's snapshot of its network, not a promise that every listed city has a flight on every day of the calendar. Your dates and the airline schedule determine which option fits the trip.

An existing tool, a seasonal reminder

MIA Discover launched in May 2024. The airport's original announcement placed its debut at the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau's State of the Travel and Tourism Industry presentation at PortMiami.

FlightPath3D developed the WhereWeFly product behind the tool. The company's airport product information describes destination and flight-search filters, airport-specific flight data and a mobile-friendly interface.

The October announcement is a reminder to use that existing resource as schedules shift toward winter. It is especially useful for residents who know they want a nonstop trip from Miami but have not settled on the city.

The airport's update lists Porter Airlines' Toronto and Ottawa seasonal returns for October 9. It lists Icelandair to Reykjavik, Aer Lingus to Dublin and SAS to Copenhagen for October 25. Those dates are the airport's announced schedule; use the carrier's booking calendar to match service with your own travel days.

Finish the comparison with the airline

Once a destination and dates look promising, follow through to the airline portal. That is where the final flight selection and purchase take place.

Compare the exact departure and return, not just the route's presence on a map. If your dates are flexible, use the calendar to see whether another day produces an option that suits the itinerary better. A nonstop route can simplify a plan, but the actual schedule still needs to work in both directions.

The map is at iflymia.wherewefly.com. For a year-end trip, it offers a practical order of operations: see the possibilities from Miami, choose a destination, narrow the dates and finish with the airline.
